Turkey Burger with Apple really turned a corner for me with my quest to find a great turkey burger recipe. I am usually not a fan of turkey burgers but this recipe has challenged me to find more ways to flavor up turkey.
This is a MUST try burger especially if you usually don’t like turkey burgers. I first found this recipe in my Taste of Home Light and Tasty 2002 Annual Recipes Cookbook. I reduce the amount of sage that is in the original recipe.
Cost Per Serving $3.66 as of May 2022
If you have ZERO ingredients then this recipe will cost about $21.95.
If you have a stocked pantry this recipe will cost about $12.34.
- Cost per serving reduces to $2.06.
I am assuming you have salt and pepper and do not add it into the recipe total cost.
Grill It!
Recipe serves: 6
Serving size: 1 burger
Equipment needed: grill, kitchen scale, zester and hand grater
Total time: 30 minutes
Equipment
We first got a kitchen scale about 15 years ago and honestly I thought we would rarely use it. The truth is, I use it almost everyday for weighing correct measurements from meat to pasta.
I prefer this zester because it eliminates a garlic press for me. I use the zester for garlic, ginger, nutmeg, lemon, etc.
I’m not a fan of box graters because I don’t use the other 3 sides and water gets into the small grates and they eventually rust.
I can honestly say I don’t think I could grill efficiently without an instant read thermometer. It has stopped me from overcooking my meat every time I grill.
Let's grocery shop!
