Speedy Spanish Rice

I have a few rice sides I turn to when I am making Mexican dishes and this is one of them.  This rice dish is simple, fast and good.

I do not include salt and pepper in the cost of this recipe.

  1. In a large nonstick skillet melt butter on medium low heat and sauté the rice, onion and green pepper until the vegetables are crisp tender 4-5 minutes.
  2. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Stir in the water, cilantro, cumin, bouillon and pepper then bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes.
  6. Stir in picante sauce.
