1/4 cup ruby red grapefruit juice |
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar |
2 tablespoons maple syrup |
2 garlic cloves |
2 teaspoons olive oil |
4 salmon fillets (4 oz each) |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
fresh thyme sprigs, optional |
Prep
- Gather all of your ingredients and measuring tools
Add to a 8″ skillet:
two cloves of garlic
1/4 cup grapefruit juice
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons maple syrup
- Season the salmon with 1/4 teaspoon of salt and pepper
Let's cook!
Grilling
- Start the grill
- Bring the sauce in the 8″ skillet to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Set aside 2 tablespoons of sauce.
- Add 2 teaspoons of olive oil to the pan with the sauce.
- Place the salmon skin side down on the grill covered.
- Baste with oiled sauce every 3 minutes for 10 – 12 minutes. Fish will flake easily with a fork when cooked.
- Drizzle with the glaze that was set aside and garnish with thyme. Enjoy!
Oven
- Start the broiler and place the grill pan under the broiler.
- Bring the sauce in the 8″ skillet to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Set aside 2 tablespoons of sauce.
- Add 2 teaspoons of olive oil to the pan with the sauce.
- Place the salmon skin side down on the grill pan
- Baste with oiled sauce every 3 minutes for 10 – 12 minutes. Fish will flake easily with a fork when cooked.
